Hi, Peter---

Thanks for the added information about tooth-span calulation and especially the different versions of this derailleur. I hadn't known that, but, being familiar with different old Simplex Touriste versions, I had looked on the surface of my Cyclo for any markings and hadn't seen any. But then, with your info and renewed inspiration, I put on my magnifiers and really scoured the derailleur over. There on the inside of the arm, in the faintest of stampings, was an oval which took much scrutiny to read, and it said, "4 SP 1/8." The stamp hadn't even struck sufficiently hard to complete the oval.

Amd so now at least I know I've got the right version for my 4-speed 1/8" freewheel, even if it won't quite be able to make the leap to that last, 28-tooth cog from its claw-mounted position.

Another helpful lead from a CR good egg!
