I seem to recall that my first wife's 1981-ish Schwinn Voyager had a serial number on the bottom bracket, but I could be mistaken.  That's one of the reasons why I thought the eBay listing was really a "VC" Voyager.

First question I'd ask is: where is the serial number located. If it's not stamped into the rear dropout, it's almost certainly not a Paramount, one-off or otherwise.
