Robert,

Thank you for the note. I have been on Google and eBay looking at spokes. They are hard to find in the correct length, and surprisingly expensive. I was hoping that someone on the list might be able to provide a little more help.

The CR e-list rules page says:

"This forum was created for the exchange of information and experiences relating to classic lightweight bikes and extends invitations to like-minded enthusiasts. Please note that this list is privately owned; it is not a "public" entity where democratic rule might apply. This forum should be viewed as "a group of friends who have been invited into the list owner's garage to talk about vintage lightweight bikes" and the invitees should behave as guests."

I looked at the CR e-list rules, and I believe that my post does not violate any of them. Certainly questions about quality of different spoke brands, and the wisdom of re-using spokes are relevant. Beyond that, a conversation in a friend's garage might well start with a simple question, possibly one that someone else in the garage thinks is dumb, but it may lead to an interesting conversation. If some of those who are invited to the garage are discouraged from asking questions, or are "hammered" for being "newbies" then it stops being a group of friends. People will stop coming over and the garage will start to get emptier.

Best regards, Marcus Helman Royal Oak, MI

Myself and one other poster at bikeforums.net just finished hammering a newbie for not doing the obvious.
