Hello Rabbit,

Don't be offended. I have many quirks to pick here also, but I have a home, family, etc.. There are a few who think that the world rotates around their thumb on a string. There are others, in fact, who do have a huge resource of knowledge, which makes this website remarkable and very worthwhile. Some of the help I have received from this "CR Forum" have been so helpful to myself and others. I have actually met some very nice friendships here. There are some folks that I can not even comment on, or there will be an explosion. Most all of we have one thing in common and that is vintage cycling. There are a few who have too much time on their hands and like to make others lives difficult and the small amount who say they want something and when you find it for them, they never respond back, like it wasn't that important to them in the first place.

But........this website has to have some sort of administration or guidelines, or it will run like a muck like a chat room where one can't even ask a question and where most ignore. Then the site will be left for the few who have no time and most of the true knowledge will disappear.

If it's about a Raleigh, Frejus, Jack Taylor or a Hetchins, then let's discuss it. If it's about trying to re mold the websites rules and guidelines, administration, concept or values, maybe you have a better idea and can form your own website.(?) I have yet to find anything that comes as near to the hobby as this website/forum. If you don't like it, develop your own and maybe it will be great. If you are here to criticize, pick a fight or try and change, some will listen, but most will hit the "delete key".

The classic rendezvous works great for the vast majority of people here that are into this hobby. I am new here so I try and respect those who know more about vintage cycling than myself, which is the majority here. I am not new with vintage cycling though.

Dale, I say that this email web is really nice. There are a few who make it difficult here, but that's life. Wiggle around them and keep moving. This site has it's problems, but I don't know what to suggest, because I am new to the CR email forum.

Thanks Dale for your effort here and everyone else that make this the greatest thing where one can go and share, learn and basically have fun with vintage cycling.

Best Regards Always, John Proch La Grange, Texas

"it is precisely because you fail to use such palatable wording"

Did you read my post clearly? There have been several times where I have used such palatable wording:

As a matter of fact and literally:

"Off-Topic?"

and

"search.bikelist.org"

No color...no commentary...no description...not even another post....nothing to

interpret. Just those two suggestions...nothing more. On two separate occasions. Per Dale's request...i.e., to be a little more friendly and tone it

down.

On one, I immediately got an expletive email in private - literally right away.

Why? Because coming from simply another member - it's taken as a bone of contention by some no matter what.

But if it came from a senior member listed in the rules or as declared by Dale as an authority to be taken as a hint - folks will understand that it's not up for argument - it a hint. Adjust accordingly...

Dale is busy...often away for a day or so...

By doing this - you'll nip a lot of this in the bud up front.

Dale asked the question...what's your straight up answer?

=8-)
