Hi Brian,

I created a similar hybrid derailleur from a twisted wreck of a Campagnolo Gran Sport and a decent condition single pulley Sport. In my case I just replaced the non-pivoting bottom of the Sport with the bottom section of the Gran Sport. I thought there might be a more graceful method of accomplishing the swap but after consulting with my favorite local machinist, Jamie Swan, we just beat on it with a punch and hammer. The Sport's pins are a bit short for the Gran Sport section so I may swap them out for longer ones someday. So, it is possible to create such a hybrid, the parts fit well enough, but I don't know how common it was.

I had planned to put it on an old Frejus that I was building up for Cirque that had a non-Campagnolo dropout/hanger with a hole for the Sport's spring but ended up using a Sturmey Archer 5 speed hub instead. The Frankenstein derailleur will go on it in a future reconfiguration.
