There is an interesting price point for collector items where the price of certain items reaches a crossover point with the original price. Eventually I suppose anything that is decent and survives reaches this point due to inflation. So far this only occurs with bicycles from the 1970's that have very strong collector appeal. The avidly sought ones do, not just Masis and Cinellis, but PX10s and Raleigh Pros also. Many custom bikes have not made it either due to the high initial cost and relatively lower demand. A lot more people set their sights on a Raleigh Pro in the day than a Bruce Gordon. Interesting to see if the prosaic Sports Tourer climbs on this podium with the Paramount!
