It actually blows my mind that people continue to use OT as an abbreviation, given that some intend off-topic, and some intend on-topic. Absolutely silly in my opinion, if you actually want readers to know what you are talking about.

People, if you just gotta' shorten it ... how about Off-T and On-T? It's only 2-3 more characters, and your message will get across.

Good point about the one-off thing ... and I have no opinion there. :)

List, Does "OT" mean "On Topic" or "Off Topic"? Seems like a problematic abbreviation.

Does "One-off" mean "One of a kind", and if so, why isn't it written "One-of"?
