Thanks Peter, looking in the 1954 catalog, I can't find the language I thought I remembered, implying 1954 was the first yaer for the bilaminate Allrounder. Seems it was 1950/1951. So a bilaminate bike with a 1950 serial number could be an Avant Coureur or a New Allrounder. I guess 531DB would mean Avant Coureur, straight gauge Allrounder, but tube deacls can be changed, of course.

\r?\n> The New Allrounder appeared in the 1951 Claud Butler
\r?\n> catalog, covering bikes produced Nov 1950 to Oct 1951
\r?\n> roughly. New lineups were shown at the Earls Court show in
\r?\n> November.
\r?\n> At that time, the New Allrounder took over the previous
\r?\n> Avant Coureur hatchet-lug design, and the Avant Coureur took
\r?\n> on a new bilaminate lug design
\r?\n>
\r?\n> The Allrounder previously was a fillet brazed bike, and
\r?\n> became a bilaminate fillet brazed bike when it became the
