____________________________________ hi all

i am with earle in that regards as well,...it would be very nice on a special frame...i think it would be nice on any bike you loved to ride as well,,,,the idea that it has an ultimate or the ultimate collectible value is real and also illusory..if it belongs to you and you prize it for its beauty and rareness alone then you might be content to just display it and let that value grow(the futures market in old campy parts was predicted by nostrodamus among other lesser known prophets...but i digress)... if you belierve that its intrinsic value comes from both its beauty relating to its form and function than you would definitely want to install and ride it....the idea that one frame is more beautiful or more worthy is entirely subjective..i dont believe its function or beauty is improved in that context...let's say if i put it on my alpina peleton special with the reynolds 531 pro tubeset and fork which now has a 2nd tier gippieme gruppo, touched up paint and slightly dented top tube from the handlebars no doubt.....if that is the bike what i love to ride and put it on than that is where its value lies...i don't think it would be more prescious to me if i put it on my blue derosa for another example ,because i am already happy with the build it has now and the ride and though there is always something"better"or different at the very least out there , i have learned not to mess with success...besides several friends helped me build it up and that also has some intrinsic if subjective value to me...so like sadie jane used to put it ..ride yer friggin bike... ps......but earles' take is what is right for him and you will figure out what is best for you....take care ,,,kevin ruberg howell nj usa ....and all apologies for any painful visuals in my typing skills and or unnecessary quotes and whatever..i just couldn't resist...so mea culpa
