Subject: [CR] Early Shimano Dura Ace Questions

Hello all,

I have found what may be a very early Dura Ace crank, and would like to get some opinions on it from the knowledgeable members of our clan.

Here is a link to images of the crank:

The crank is different from my other early D-A cranks in a number of ways: 1. It is noticeably lighter than the others 2. There are no date stamps or any other stampings 3. The machining is not quite as refined, almost looking like an advanced prototype rather than a full production component. It has a more hand-crafted look.

The casting/foundry number is "1", which may mean the first set of castings for this very early crank.

Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks,
