I’ve sent a photo of the levers to one of the CR members and he informs me that they’re not Mafac; sorry for my ignorance. He suggested that I post the photo to the list and ask for help ID’g them. I would appreciate some help; here’s a link to pics of the levers and the rest of the bike: http://s794.photobucket.com/albums/yy225/msubikes/Peugeot%20PX10/

The bike does have a couple other non-original aspects (Campy rr. derail and Universal 68 calipers), so perhaps they're Universal brake levers to match the calipers? That would make sense.

We've since repaired the frame and fork and overhauled it, so it's looking much better. I'll do final photos once I've got the missing pieces. Also looking for a good condition Campy frt. derail. to match the non- original rear that was added (after unfortunately hacking off the rr. derail hanger).

Many thanks,

Tim

I’m looking for a pair of hoods for some Mafac brake levers for an old Peugeot PX10 that we’ve fixed up in our shop. Since I can’t buy stuff off eBay with university $$, would anyone happen to know of anyone selling anything that’ll fit that’s reasonably priced?

I’ve only found this Japns leather-maker’s web site where they’re showing off some leather made hoods which are absolutely gorgeous but I’m assuming are prohibitively expensive: http://www12.ocn.ne.jp/~hishikaw/page008.html http://www12.ocn.ne.jp/~hishikaw/page008.html#試走一年 試走一年

Or this link if that one doesn’t work (has some Japns. characters in it):

I know I could update the brakes altogether to something that I can buy hoods for but I’d like to keep the original eqpt. if at all possible.

Thanks in advance for any referrals or pointers.

Tim
