Great pics and great bike. McLean was certainly the master of understated elegance. My own McLean is one of the greatest prizes of my collection. Does Chuck still have McLean t-shirts available?

It surprises me that McLeans don't command the same sort of prices as Confentes. I don't think even Mario surpassed McLean's artistry. And both died young, which not only limited production, but added to the legends. I suppose the difference is that Mario was associated with Faliero Masi, was rumored to have built frames for Eddy Merckx, and was associated with the CA Masi operation which employed an amazing number of guys who would later become some of the best framebuilders in America, or in the world, for that matter. While McLean was almost a recluse, without the famous friends that Mario enjoyed.
