As of late, I've noticed that shipping from France has gone up. However when I receive the actual packages (filled with on-topic items, of course), the euro amount on the label is significantly less. Usually half of the fees I pay, but sometimes a third or a quarter.
While I'm an advocate of a few extra dollars for handing, it's been getting quite ridiculous. My guess is it has a lot to do with the rise of PayPal fees.
At any rate, the most recent transaction that this was an issue, the seller doubled the charges of actual shipping. When I inquired about the high shipping costs, the seller told me that it was to mainly pay for insurance (and tape). However, on the package there was no indication of insurance fees paid.
My questions is, does anyone know if the French Post shows evidence of insurance paid on shipments. I've looked at several boxes from France and the EU that I recycle and non of them show any sort of insurance markings.
I'd like to get some information before I turn this into an issue. If the seller did pay for insurance, the cost of shipping makes much more sense.
Thanks.
