I'm a little confused here...
You are trying to date a Masi 3V by trying to indentify tubes which probably aren't labelled? Is there no serial number in the usual suspect locations? Do
you have pictures - especially of the fork as I'm pretty sure an optional fork was available with some 90's issue bikes?
Bob Hovey's site has a great registry...serial numbers especially once into the
80s really help...
I've seen a few Masi 3Vs - mostly white and red - and I've yet to see a Reynolds 753 sticker or any tubing identifier - I'm sure some had 'em as shown in one article at Bob Hovey's site, but I have yet to see tubing stickers in person myself.
And the owner of the bikes I've seen didn't particulary care...they bought a Masi 3V period.
My impression in regards to Masi has always been you're not buying a Masi for the tubing - you are buying a Masi - particulary the 3V - for cutting edge steel craftmanship by someone who history shows knows what the hell they are doing...
If you don't have a serial number - show us some pics.
=8-)
