Subject: [CR] Tire repair history

Does anyone know when tire patch kits began to use metal tubes for glue? The pneumatic bicycle tire was patented in 1888 by Dunlop. Metal tubes for artist's oil paints were first used in 1841, and toothpaste was first packaged that way in 1892, so the technology was available from the time the pneumatic tire first appeared. Specifically, were tubes of glue common in the 1930's?
