The very first email (of many thousands up to date) i wrote to the then-not-yet-girl-of-my-life almost 10 years ago started something like this:

"Hello ...., i don't know if you recall my name, we exchanged a couple of words at the group ride last week - remember me? The guy with the bright orange bike...?" So while i flatter myself believing it wasn't my bike, but my charm and wit that made her accept my invitation, its unusual colour certainly helped. Imagine same conversation today: "I was the guy on the brand new red-black-white bike" - "oh yeah? Which one of the twenty??" (she later assured me the description helped her put a face to my name; apparently i wasn't the only fellow in that particular ride who thought she looked good on a bike)

I firmly believe that the only way to attract MOST women with a bike is to sell it and use the money on something practical and/or a vacation. I settle for my wife tolerating my bikes and feigning interest in their evolution. I have found that certain colors are more likely to engender tolerance on her part; brown is not one of those colors and green isn't either. I've gotten the best results with red and orange.
