Subject: [CR] Good Food in Austin?

My wife and I were planning on visiting Austin, me for the bikes, her for the town, but have since decided to go with other plans made prior, whose budget NAHBS would put a crimp in. We did research food by going on line with Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives for memorable food. We found four that sounded wonderful ... think Spicy! All can be found on youtube videos by searching for d. d. & d, Austin TX. We can only recommend them vicariously having never been to Austin. At least two are an easy bike ride from the convention center. Their websites may also link to the videos.

Casino El Camino (really spicy burgers, etc.) 517 East 6th Street Austin, TX 78701-3741 http://www.casinoelcamino.net/ (512) 469-9330

Green Mesquite (mesquite barbeque) 1400 Barton Springs Rd. and 9900 South I-35 Suite M700 Austin, Texas 78704 http://www.greenmesquite.net/ (512) 282-7100

Maria's Taco Express (Killer breakfast) 2529 S. Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX 78704 http://www.tacoxpress.com (512) 444-0261

Magnolia Cafe 1920 S Congress Ave Austin, TX 78704 http://www.cafemagnolia.com (512) 445-0000

And to keep this on topic, I'll miss it but please stop by to say hi to Chris Bishop who'll be showing off my new keeper of the flame rando bike, along with others. Paint is by Fresh Frame, freshly back in business, who may not be represented at the show other than by my bike, although possibly one by Tom Palermo.

Happy trails,
