A lot of the tooling and jig work at Trek was done by Tim Isaacs who is a process engineer par excellence. I once saw his special machine that did the seat tube, seat lug and stays, all in one assemble / cut / miter / brazing pass. Very impressive - accurate, fast, and repeatable.

I think Tim is now working in China - or at least he was a couple years ago.
