Huret front from the 70's have a cable stop and will work really well for a TA crank. Not enough cable travel for some other brands of cranks. It is a narrow cage so as to fit snugly but not rub the inside of the TA crank arm when sitting over the largest chainring.

One thing is that the middle ring must not be in the shadow of the largest ring. IE 30 39 52 the front derailleur would skip the middle ring and go to the largest necessitating always shifting down to the middle ring. 1/2 steps are the cats meow here. I have used a 46 x 42 x 26 for example. 52 x 42 x 32 has worked for me as well.

Not expensive and plentiful on ebay.

Hi Gang,

I'm in need of a front derailleur with a cablestop that'll work with a TA triple crankset. Got a sketchy 80's Simplex on there now but it doesn't seem able to cut the mustard on the smallest ring. It's for this project:

I don't really care if it's period correct but hopefully there is something around the 1980's or older that'll work... Thanks in advance for your help.
