Subject: [CR] What I ride.

My every day, good weather, around town (w/o load) bike is a 50's Carlton Flyer path racer set up with an ancient single-speed coaster brake hub. Williams track cranks. No hand brakes, mud guards or any extraneous equipment. A minimalist ride.

For commuting in bad weather or when carrying a load or for loaded touring, I ride a Rivendell Atlantis with modern Japanese components, mud guards, racks, lights. The best all round bike I've ever had.

Weekend fast rides: one of the following:

1974 Raleigh Pro. Period correct Campy NR components.

1969 Frejus. My first light-weight bike. Refinished by Joe Bell. A work of art. All original Campy components except for brakes upgraded from Universal center pull to Campy.

2005 (KOF) Rivendell Rambouliet. Mudguards, front rack, lights. My brevet bike.

Mid 80's (?) Masi Team Issue 3V. Teeth rattling but fun.
