Subject: [CR] What do you ride

I have quite a collection of machines and have a reason for each. My wife occasionally asks why so many and why do you need to buy another.

Harry Hall early 70's Mafac Racer brakes, bar end shifters, Campag mechs. Has mudguards, warm and wet weather ride. Trek 1400 1990 all DuraAce, low gears, hilly dry ride. Giant Peleton, all RSX, mudguards, low gears, hilly wet ride. Raleigh Dyna-Tech 1990, all 105, medium hills and dry. Peak Cycles of Matlock Bath, mid 80's 531 with a mix of Shimano and Stronglight, friction down tube shifters and mudguards, slower wet ride. Peugeot Triathalon, mid 80's Stronglight and Weinmann, my son is having it when I put new bar tape on. Raleigh Road Ace, I think, it was given to me, ditched everything bar the frame, now all 105, occasional dry and flat usage. Falcon, Ernie Clements, bought from Ebay, has 3 speed hub, sprung saddle, plan to put it back in road trim. A Scot made in Glasgow, 1967, Campagnolo Gran Sport, Stronglight Competition cottered chain set. Unridden for many years. Got it ready to ride last week and changed my mind. Overnight the rear tube burst and blew the tyre off the rim and the front went flat. Undecided as to it's fate, may dismantle it and put parts on Ebay. There is also a 60's Peugeot Tandem, MAFAC canti brakes and TA chainset, we have an old Dodge RV and the tandem fits nicely across the back with no overhang. It goes to France and beyond with us. I have promised no more bicycles and no more motorcycles, have 12 in the garage.
