Just an FYI, this bike cost me a little over $900 shipped from Utah on ebay a couple years ago:

It came with dept. store crap rear wheel, seatpost, saddle & pedals. Had the Cinelli rear fender only with the end broken off & missing. Did come with the Cinelli headset but the auction pics were so bad you couldn't tell. It was rusty and full of patina. I 0000 steel wooled the chrome and you can see in some of the pics where I took an art store silver ink pen to cover up the rust & scratches on the frame. I found a '64 Brooks Pro & Campy seatpost on ebay for it. I built a new wheelset and installed new freewheel & chain. Recently switched out the Mafac brakes for Universal 61's. Fabbed the brackets for the water bottle cage inspired by a similar setup I had seen on one of Mark Micheletti's bikes. I think it's done now. It's a tank but my fave riding bike - very stable and confidence inspiring while still handling well. Good luck in your search.

Hey Peter-
I didn't bother to bid on the frame you bought as it was out of my range several days before it ended. I want one with lots of patina and would have gone up to about $650-700 personally. I never thought it would go much past the 4-500 mark, but as one member has already pointed out to me, I know apparently little about their value. I hope this isn't to be the benchmark for these as I doubt I will be able to afford one! Did anyone see how much the complete sold for?
