Well after a couple of years 'wanting to'....but never getting round to it.....I've now registered for L'Eroica in October.
This hopefully will see me getting some longer than normal rides in this year in preperation for what can best be described as the ultimate sportive ride!....well it is if your into the old stuff as most folk on here are.
Not sure which bike to use, but it has to be able to take a 700 x 29 tyre, Halo tyres do a 29mm tyre in the traditional black and tan.....their designed for street use or couriers...but look like a sturdy tyre that might be suitable for the loose surface of the white roads?
Gearing might be a problem for the intended bike......but if I juggle stuff around I should be able to use my Stronglight 93 triple with 37 x 42 x 52 and a 14 to 24 5spd freewheel.
Regarding registration, I've paid by PayPal....this has been confirmed, but how do I find if I'm actually added to the list of entrants, and should I look out for anything coming through the post in due course?......it all seems a bit sketchy to me, even when translated.
Finally, any more UK riders doing it?........I know several of you chaps over the water are doing it, be good to meet up with you over a glass of red!
