You also see a lot of people fixing snakebites ;) If your frame can take wider tyres it will be worth it, not only for reliability, but also for increased comfort.

You'd be a fool not to. After all that travel you want to stretch your legs, have an expresso at a cafe and check the road conditions and your bike in daylight -- mvg
