Joe,
I don't recall seeing any other fancier lugs laying around his shop while I
was there. He did mention that his original fork crown design has changed
from the one seen in this photo with the "N":

to his current design seen ever since. That's about the only change in lug design that we discussed. As Robert pointed out the NJS frame builders in Japan haven't varied much or done much fancy lugwork over the years which is likely a result of the NJS strength requirements.
I'm basing this on the dozens of different frames from just about every NJS builder I've seen there since I've lived/ traveled there for over 5 yrs. (total) since the early '80s. This would include the frames of my father-in-law which he had in the early '80's that looked to be from as late as the 60's (wish I'd kept at least one of them; he rode King Speeds).

Tim, I can't recall if I looked through your Nagasawa photos when you posted 'em last year, but this year, the bottom bracket shells and lugs caught my eye. Are there any Nagasawa's with fanciful shorelines? Richard Sachs said Nagasawa "brought style and austerity to the framebuilding world," and I think it was Mark Bulgier who expanded on Sachs with, "Nagasawa's austerity: Beaucoup Bold; his style: Mos Scocious."
