I just wanted to add a couple of things to Dale's email.

1) Google Groups does have a digest mode. They even have a better digest mode than what bikelist.org offers, you can choose to get all of the emails (Digest Email), or just get links to the emails that are in their archives (Abridged Email).

Here are the options: No Email - read this group on the web Email - send each message as it arrives Abridged Email - send a summary of new activity each day Digest Email - send all new messages in a single daily email

2) Google has good archiving, and the archives at http://search.bikelist.org aren't going anywhere and will continue to get new emails.

Sadly I can't do anything about the ads in the Google archives. I can continue to provide my own archives that are ad free however.
