Ted and all-

Just a note on this. Currently, the way bikelist.org is setup, it's pretty easy to search the archives and get any bikelist members email, I.P. address, location and as much personal info as you can depending on what you divulged to the number of lists hosted there over the years. While google is a much bigger entity, I actually think there is a bit more security being able to hide things like email addresses, real names, etc. Of course there is site vulnerability to hackers, but that comes with any venture online.

Of course there is a bit of expected "big brother" leeriness, but most of that is thrown out the door the minute you sign up for an ISP and jump online.

Not sure if that makes things better or not.

Having my email, name, city, state etc all "out there" gives me the creeps. There are a lot ot creepy people out there. I don't know if I can trust Larry Page and Sergey Brin's site ad much as Alex Wetmore's (even though he booted me when I stated that Bridgestone bicycles are/were junk.) So I quietly unsubscribed the same day. Something about the simple Phred site seemed to work. Another thing that I find fishy is that the CR information at the bottom of each CR google post is the same as the info at the bottom of the old Phred posts. Lastly, I went to the CR sign up page on the Phred site and the CR sign up form is still there
