I added a pair of rope reinforcements to control pad movement on the forward flexing caliper, shown here:

I had been using the bike for off-road racing, and preserving the pad's alignment with the rim really helped prevent the brake lever from bottoming on the handlebar when descending in wet conditions. I used ordinary shoe laces iir, which weighed nothing, didn't rattle and haven't damaged the paint after many years of racing the Pedersen.
