Thank you all for your kind comments. As most of you know I'm very new to the board and I didn't want to go on about the bike. I earned the bike working at Bike Rite in El Monte, Ca as a kid. It hung in the rafters at my parents home in Mohave Valley AZ for about 40 years. Fast forward today and our sun and I are avid riders.

Last June I contracted with Cycle Art in Vista Ca to restore the bike. As you can see they did a fantastic job. The took a bulge out of the down tube (from a crash coming down Azusa Canyon) , re aligned the frame, disassembled and rebuilt everything. Every thing on the bike is original except the tires, B17 and bag. I've also added hoods to the Universal brake levers. It was finished on December 23 and given to our son on Christmas. I must tell you we all got tears in our eyes when we saw his reaction...speechless. He was absolutely overwhelmed. He said he could remember it hanging in the rafters at the grand folks for years. His first goal with the bike is to take it to the monthly classic bike ride at the Pasadena Rose Bowl.

I am new at adding Flickr to an e-mail and thanks to Chuck at Velo-Retro I've added a link to my Flickr site so any who are interested can see before, in progress and after shots.
