Subject: [CR] Measuring Nitto Stem Extension

For reasons unknown, Nitto's extension measurement for the ordinary Technomic uses a different method than the one used for the Technomic Deluxe, Pearl and similar models. The ordinary Technomic is measured along the top, starting at the center of the quill bolt. The other models are measured along the centerline. I have no idea which method they use for the Dynamic model stem, or some of their older stems which do not seem to have any specific model designation.

In any event, I do not think Nitto are alone in this inconsistency, as I had experienced similar situations when purchasing French stems such as Mavic. It might have something to do with the parts actually being supplied by different foundries/forges. But who can say for sure? I certainly can't.

Good luck my friends,
