Subject: [CR] Old wheels

Hello all,

I am putting together a set of wheels for a 1956 Frejus track bike. I got it in 1973 with an FB high flange rear hub and an SIAMT high flange front hub. Both have alloy flanges and "Frejus" in script engraved on the steel barrels. The rims were unoriginal & bent. I stopped using the wheels years ago.

Here's my situation: The bike is a rider, not a showpiece, but I'd like to get it closer to its original configuration. (I just removed a handsome, functional but much later Campy Record Pista crank set & installed a Frejus-stamped 3 arm cottered crank set which came on a 1962 Frejus TdF I bought recently. The three pin crank now wears an Eisenmann alloy 1/2"x1/8" chain ring and looks right at home.) These old hubs appear to be correct, possibly the original hubs for this bike.

Questions for you guys: Could the bike have been sold with different brands of hubs, or is one an early replacement? The front hub has 32 holes, while the rear has 36 holes. I have a 36 hole Nisi rim that is period correct, but no 32 hole rim. Does anybody have any of the following: an FB high flange front with Frejus on the barrel; an SIAMT rear HF; a 32 hole Nisi tubular rim; two period-correct matching tubular rims, one with 32 holes, the other with 36; failing all that, any 32 hole tubular rim that could have been found on a 1956 Frejus track bike?

It is a scary, wonderful thing that many of you know exactly what I'm going on about.
