Sorry Aldo,
I should have realized he didn't look that old when I used to race with him on the old Sturmey Archer / Chater-Lea Team before it was disbanded. Maybe he took Chuck Schmidt brand vitamins to stay young and energetic into his golden years.
So Aldo, I suppose the little "ab.11°" after (34 KREBS Fred (Gbr)) means Fred was an abandonnee in Stage 11.

"38" was his race number in 1955, not the year he competed.

To the CR folks,
We should note that Brian Robinson of GB finished the Tour in 1938 and was
still finishing in 1961. Wow, if it is the same gentleman he had a long run
indeed in a very tough sport. Those Brit's sure are plucky.
Brian Robinson, I have heard of over the years but I did not realize he
raced
and completed so many TDF.
To long years in the saddle,
