Over the past week I have watched with interest two ebay auctions. One was for a nearly new 93 Bridgestone RB-1 and the other was a RB-1 frame without a fork that had many chips and scratches. The first one closed at $415 and the later one at $152. Having ridden a RB-1 on several test rides I know that it is a fine riding bike, but I look at these prices and think of the many fine handmade frames in similar condition that have gone for less. Whats up with this? Someone please enlighten me.
Forgive me if this seems to be off subject, but being what appears to be a collectable discontinued lightweight bicycle with quite a following I thought it might merit some discussion.
