The Paris show bikes are interesting, because indeed, the Csukas felt that they had to present modern components on their bikes. Most of the bikes had reverted to their usual 1970s parts (Huret, Mafac, etc.) when I saw them at the shop this spring. Except Olivier's personal bikes.
Olivier (the son) is a racer, while Ernest (the father) traditionally has supported the cyclotourists. I hope the bikes remain true cyclotouring bikes in the future. Beautiful racing bikes can be had elsewhere - even traditional ones. Singer now is the only place for a true traditional constructeur cyclotouring bike for randonneur riding, centuries, supported or unsupported tours, etc.

P.S.: A friend just got his all-chrome brand-new Singer randonneur bike yesterday. Can't wait to see it.
