Our Stronglight 49D set has some scars from use and wear. But that is not the point. It is part of her road bike from the mid-70s. We like the bike for what it is, although it is a mongrel: an anonymous SuperVitus frameset of average French craftsmanship. With vertical dropouts I brazed in so the HiE skewer wouldn't slip. A magnificent "invisible" Imron fade done by Les Lunas. And so on. The cranks aren't for sale. neither are the Jubilee derailleurs. It's just part of all the things we've done and had over the decades. But don't get me started about the nearsightedness of economists, who know prices but not values.

But thanks for the fair warning!
