I've been working the Palmetto Cycling Coalition's Lost Weekend for three years now, and finally saw a vintage bike I'd never before encountered - a gentleman rode the metric today on a Raleigh International with Carlton Capella lugs. Chromed, natch. Ricky told me he'd bought it new but without wheels in 1979 from a shop that had been unable to sell if for many many years - apparently, people didn't like its funky med-light green hue. Apparently, some of the Campy parts were dated 1973, and the decal scheme would match that.

Of course there were other vintage bikes in the area - same rider had also brought his c.1972 Paramount P-15 (pretty much stock), and an area rider who is a fixture around here showed up with his lovely old Windsor Pro - repainted, definitely non-standard parts, but he told me he's put 107,000 miles on it since he got it new in 1975.
