I think each of the above painters is likely to have a different price and
the quality of any of the finished jobs may vary, but will likely all be quite
high. I have to point out that to say "I really just want nice, don't need
perfect or show quality", is somewhat unfair to any craftsman. I would say that
someone who would do just a "nice" paint job is not going to be a professional.
A professional, like it or not, has to look at each job he turns out as being
an advertisement and that the quality has to represent his ordinary standard
of work. I've also heard stories about "lesser priced" paint being agreed to,
and "high priced" job nit-picking following completion. My advice is, find a
painter that you can enjoy dealing with, have a clear understanding of what you
want and what it will cost, and be patient while they do a good job.
I had some motorcycle bits painted by a friend (for free) and all I can say
is, I would have gotten a lot more for the motorcycle and it would have been
easier to sell, if I'd paid for a better job!
