Good Morning or whenever to CR listers. Decided to post after reading in the background for a long time. What prompted me was a web news report of persons using job search engines (Monster, etc.) who were duped into being forwarding agents by scammers using tactics similar to what posters here have experienced. It seems that the Nigerian (or others) fraud folks are now contacting unemployed job seekers and duping them out of their money while using the job seeker to expedite transaction. Seems like all of use who might use ebay or other sales need to vet buyers and sellers to an unprecedented level.

To follow the rules: a bit about myself. mid-century male, been riding since I was six. first multispeed was a Schwinn Sierra 15 speed (varsity with 3 front rings and quick release hubs) when I was 13. I found this group while looking for what I now know is an "on list" rider. My current steel includes an early 80's Trek 720, a mid 80's Campy equipped Bianchi "costruita nei reparto course" , an early 80's Schwinn Circuit with Dura Ace and a '92 Santana Sovereign. Still looking for the perfect period representation. I enjoy the discussions about what would be better, aesthetics or performance. One fond memory I have (fits with the mid life crisis aspect of the aging process) is seeing the Stetina brothers riding their Teledyne Titan bikes at the Tour of Brook side (Indianapolis) in the late seventies. Not sure if I want innovation or tradition.....Enough for now. Wishing everyone a happy holiday of their choosing.
