Last weekend was our final clubrun of the year. Our small group goes by the name of "The Six Hill's CC." To qualify you must be over fifty, this is the first of the hills. Every year we have a theme to the ride and a topic of discussion. This year the make was Carpenter and the topic was best racing bikes from the last century in decade order. Needless to say only one Carpenter showed up but five other classics turned out with a assortment of chisels, mallets and screwdriver's in the saddlebags to get round the theme. Like I said it's a fun ride the Hunt's Hundred (62.5kms.) We visit pubs on route which sell Timothy Taylor Landlords bitter (Madonna's Favorite) and JHB another must try beer when in the UK. Anyway before Dale gets bored and rules this off topic he is a list of what the intrepid 6 voted for in decade order. 1900 Rudge Runner-up Dursley Pedersen 1910 Premier " " " BSA 1920 Grubb " " " Chater- Lea 1930 Russ " " " Selbach 1940 Claud Butler " Paris/ Rensch 1950 Ephgrave " " Gillot 1960 Cinelli " " Flandria 1970 Gios " " Viner 1980 Colnalgo " " Moser The group has been riding and racing for many years and the vote was done on makes we have ridden. We all felt that an American Ivor Johnson or a Dayton should have ben in there but none of us have ridden one. Hetchins never even made it. We we would be interested in any comments?

Best wishes and be lucky. Michael Butler Huntingdon UK.
