CR list,

Some of you may have seen the SLDB over the past few years -- you know, the site with all the dead links! (The late Ken Kifer once featured it as what not to do when building a web site) ;-)

I've been working on it lately and just wanted to point out a couple of recent additions.

I've put a pair of '75 Paramount ads from Bike World magazine up on the site ...

... that were graciously donated by Brad Stockwell.

http://www.geocities.com/sldatabook/specbook.html (almost to the bottom)

Eric Amlie pointed out that the ad with the Opaque Blue bike talks about the P- 13 Road Racer, but shows a P-15 Touring. I completely missed that!

If any of you have Schwinn Lightweight literature (1960-1979)that you can scan or loan for scanning, please let me know. I've added quite a bit to the site lately and am plugging through a couple Bicycle Specification books (at 75 - 100 pages per issue). I still have some parts/accessories manuals and the two volume '69 repair manual (1000+ pages) to scan and will get Eric's photos of many of the early Consumer and Dealer Catalogs up as place holders until we can get them scanned. Then it's on to the other loaned literature!

This has been nearly four years in the making (though I have spent very little time on it the past two years due to conflicts). I've been hard at it since Christmas and would like to get the site fleshed out in the next year.

Though the site is limited to 20 years of Schwinn Derailleur Lightweights and the navigation is driven by those models, there is plenty there for you Sting- Ray, Heavy, Middleweight or Schwinn fans in general.

Since my funds are very limited, I'm counting on the generosity of the collector community to help me complete this goal. If you have literature that is not already featured and can send large scans at 150dpi mininum, that would be most helpful. I would also like nice, high-resolution photos/scans of any of the Schwinn Lightweight models in your collections.

Thanks for your consideration,
