Subject: [CR]Basso IS Pogliaghi?

Dirk's mention of the Basso manufactured Pogliaghis at Brueglemans raises a qusetion that I was considering putting on the LIst just in order to clear up something that has puzzled me for near on 14 years.

I was doing the rounds of the 1991 Milan Show and had just entered Pogliaghi's stand when I was approached bya VERY TALL guy addressing me in an American drawl. I noticed that there were also quite a few Basso frame's on the stand too. At Milan Shows in the 80s the brands were on different stands and appeared to be totally separate companies.

However this chap advised that Basso had bought out the Pogliaghi name and that he was the new Marketing Manager for the two. Did I want to buy anything?

Having only recently been admitted to the CR List I had been longing to ask if this American saleman might now be a member of the LIst, but until Dirk's post I had decided to keep my powder dry.

If you're out there I'm sorry I didn't buy anything.. I bought Sannini and Pesenti instead .
