I think the metal strip on a PX-10 would indicate mid 70's, maybe 1973 to 1977 or so. I have three PX-10's. From the decals and components I make them to be about 1968, 1972 and 1976. The two earlier one have the serial number engraved on the BB shell. The circa 1976 has it on the metal strip. This may have continued in the late 70's and beyond, but by that time the PX-10 had ceased to be the top Peugeot model and its identity and place in the product line began to change from year to year.

As you may have already determined, PX-10 serial numbers seem to be sort of random. The fact that it's on an aluminum strip means more than the actual number. Best advice, compare your frame with the pictures and descriptions found on the PX-10 database pages at:
