The CR List is pretty impressive.

More than a few of you thought I was full of **** when I said my Raleigh Team Pro SB4074 dated, as I was told by the original owner, to 1978.

Well that must have gotten his ears burning because today I receive in the

mail the original receipts for this machine.

On 25 June 1976 he took delivery of Raleigh Team Pro SB 215 (Reynolds 531)

for $900. When this frame fractured, he was offered a free replacement.

Instead he opted for a 753 one and on 5 December 1980 he took delivery of the new frame SB 4074 with the components from the old machine switched over but had to buy the correct dia. 26.5 Super Record seat pin. The seat pin cost him $35.00 and the frame upgrade $240.00

So the moral of the story is 1) the CR List is usually right, 2) I was ful l of **** stating this was 1978, 3) original owners often forget and 4) isn' t it swell, dandy and amazing when you actually get the original paperwork t o prove all of this once and for all?
