Hallo all,

I've been hovering on your fringes for a while, have greatly enjoyed your discussions on various threads, and recently came into an old Zeus that i'd

appreciate the list's help in dating, identifying the model and perhaps a finish so that i might restore it. Details are:

56 cm frame, frame number is indistinct but i think it reads either "8849"

or "8249"; lugs are apparently Nervex Pro', with number stamped on bottom bracket apparently "58[degrees symbol]64[degrees symbol]22E38"; dropout markings also indistinct, but appear to read "ZEUS competicion" both front and rear; headtube badge is a rosette shape, badly hand-painted at present, with globe at centre and "ZEUS" horizontally across the middle; frame is currently a metallic copper colour - though this looks rather hand

painted - with a white seat tube panel containing a Zeus decal, and a white

ovalised-oblong downtube panel also with a Zeus decal; it has zeus-badged components, namely: double crankset (53/43) with single

flute the length of the crank arm and a Zeus globe logo between this and the crank bolt, a "gran sport" rear derailleur but no model name apparent on front derailleur, three position setpost (diameter marked as "26.8"); other components are: "Weinmann 610 Vainquer 999" brakes and levers, Fujita(?) seamless Super YFC saddle, GB stem, Fiamme bars, Mavic Montlery sprint rims with "Milremo" and "Championnat du Monde" badges, Milremo small-flange hubs and MM Atom QR-skewers.

Feel free to ask questions / recommend a course of action with respect to the value of the machine - I look forward to hearing your thoughts !
