Aquila is a very commonly used brand name in the bike industry. In Italian it means eagle so it is quite an appealing image to give to a bike brand. There were many makers in Italy who made "Aquila" branded bikes. There was at least one based in the town of L'Aquila, plus another in the Veneto. Today, the Racer Sportif shop in Toronto is using the name for their own house brand of bikes. So when you add this to Jack van Gent's shop, you have quite a selection of possible sources.

As far as the saddle maker goes, they go back to the 30's at very least and were often considered to be the Italian equivalent of Brooks. The brand on the saddles appeared to be written: AQVILA
