Thanks again Mick. With help received so far I have established that the first Falcon team was set up in 1960, picking up some of the members of the disbanded Elswick-Hopper team, which was very successful during its short two year life. What I am finding more difficult is the 1970s and later years. For example in 1972 there was a Falcon-Clement-Tighe team. Should this be Clement or Clements? Probably the former as Falcon were agents for Clement tubulars and as Ernie Clements was running Falcon would he have his name directly associated. Seems like it is going to be easier by tracking riders first and noting the teams from there, as Google only throws up 40 or so entries for "Coventry Eagle" + Barras, but a million for "Coventry Eagle" + racing + team. If I make any sense of it all I will include it as a follow-up email. Thanks to all respondants so far - this is a great resource for those of us not blessed with either a photographic memory or an attic full of Cycling back numbers. Nige, Elswick Hopper 1958 Alan Bladon and Harry Reynolds. What you need to do is get hold of someone like Hilary or Peter ask them to have a look at late 50's or 60's Cycling's or Sporting Cyclist. This ain't a long job as it was the tradition to announce the British pro riders for the various teams in the April. Ernie Clements always put on a big advertising spree for the team in April.

Thats all for now. Keep those wheels spinning, in your memories if not still on the road. Be lucky Mick Butler Huntingdon UK.
