Great article! I remember the shop well. They serviced my Raleigh Lenton GP; I was doing some sporadic racing and they wanted me to get a newer and lighter bike, but I couldn't afford it at the time. I believe it was Ted's dad, Swiss, who persuaded me to race in the first (second?) Manhattan Beach GP -- in which I fell, along with many others, on the second lap across the old trolly tracks. I still have and use a well trimmed and heavily oiled Brooks saddle that Swiss sold to me for a prayer about that time.
