I was going to question that the Falcon is really a San Remo, but the decal does say so. My 1972 San Remo is much different, chromed head lugs, 531 DB throughout, Campy DO's, chromed full-sloping fork crown, full Campy NR. This bike is clearly a lessor, although not bad, model. 531 straight-gauge main tubes, stamped rear DO's, second line equipment. I have wondered why Falcon got a bad reputation during the bike boom, but I think this is a good example. Nothing wrong with this Falcon for its price point. But to slap the San Remo name on it degraded the image of the really top line San Remos from the 60's, or mine from 1972. So maybe Falcon's image problem was caused not by building bad bikes for any price range, but by poor marketing which blurred the distinction between the entry level. the midrange and the really top models.

Prices to not include shipping, which will be priced at shipper cost only, with the buyers choice of speed and courier. Payment by cash, money order, Paypal, or personal check if I know you. Descriptions are kept brief here, in order to save space, but feel free to ask for more specific descriptions or photos, if necessary.

2-1) Austro - Daimler Ultima SL (Superleight), 55.25cm seat x 56.5cm top (c-c). Frameset only, I believe this was their top of the line model, with Reynolds 531 PROFESSIONAL (red label) tubing from approx. 1982. Smoked or gold chrome finish shows a good amount of use, but still looks quite attractive to me. The chrome in the tough to reach spots around the b.b. shell shows the typical lack of endurance. Under b.b. cable guides, d/t shift and w/b bosses, top tube brake cable clips, integrated seat binder with included chromed Sugino bolt. Recessed brake mounting, 129.75mm rear spacing can be compressed to 126, or expanded to accommodate a modern spread. FACTORY DRILLED Campagnolo dropouts also have the holes for the Campy Portacatena shifting mechanism, English threading, relieved under b.b. shell. Downtube decals must have a copper content, and have oxidized green in some areas, in addition to the normal loss associated with use. Seat tube decals have faded significantly, but are still completely visible in the right light. No bends, dents, notable dings, etc. Cleaned ... $250.00

2-2) Flandria J.P. Monsere, bike boom model, 56cm seat x 57cm top (c-c). Complete bike with Simplex (Prestige?) black (Delrin?) gears (front of clamp front der. is cracked), Raleigh branded (Normandy?) large flange front hub laced to Kinlin(?) steel clinchers, ATOM large flange rear hub laced to Mafac Racer c/p brakes (Dia Compe replacement in front), ATAX aluminum stem and unstamped bars, Nervar 3 pin cottered steel crank 170-50-47, Suntour Mighty Power shifters, Lyotard pedals (right spindle is bent), 5 speed Atom freewheel. Fast photos are available here: Untouched ... $125

2-3) Falcon San Remo model from the early 1970s, 51.5cm seat x 57cm top (c-c) ... ride in the Superman position! Complete bike with Reynolds 531 (3 tubes), Brooks B17 saddle, Campagnolo Nuovo Tipo sm. flange hubs laced to aluminum tubular rims, Campy Velox Extra gears, Weinmann c/p brakes, GB aluminum stem and un-stamped bars, cottered steel 5 pin cranks. Nutted brake mounting, and cool wrap-around seat stay tops. This has been discussed on the list before. Fast photos are available here:

Untouched ... $150.00
