Chuck's post reminded me of a source for vintage posters I came across at a local antique fair recently.

They are located in Oakland, CA in the Glenview neighborhood I used to live in. Never knew they were there.

At the fair, they had a wonderful selection of posters of all sorts, mostly very large posters. I inquired after bicycle posters and they indicated they had recently acquired a collection and proceeded to show me about a dozen different posters, all quite large. All were pre-WWII, not my interest but perhaps to some on this list.

They explained their process of archive-standard care for the posters including washing and mounting on a linen backing. Prices were signficant, about what you might pay for a vintage bike, but beautifully presented, marvelous graphics and colours. Very nice people too.

The skinny: Only original posters from 1880-1960, no gallery.

I was looking at Brett Horton's great web site tonight <http:// thehortoncollection.com> and came across this 1980 Coors Classic poster: <http://thehortoncollection.com/PreFabPosterWebPages/ PostWar1984/0073.jpg>

I'd forgotten all about modeling for the poster (the illustrator was a friend and needed some reference photos for his illustration). Senior moment; it was like I'd never seen the poster before!

That was me on my long gone champagne colored Masi GC (wish I had that bike now).
