<< ....while i agree the pics are crap if they are from the source i think they're from they will be worth bidding on .. when will international buyers/bidders realise that not everyone in the world wants or accepts electric money or can set up to avail of it, and would rather have a cheque or other form of payment . in the uk in my own experience there is still a lot of cash changing hands for cycle items ,i know that if you are going to some one to deal for kit you 'd better have some folding in your pocket. >>

Thanks for the response Willie!

I understand your point and over here, when dealing face to face we all use cash too! It's great!

But when a person wanting to sell something, presumeably for the best price he/she can get, and he/she goes to all the trouble to solicit to the entire world (via eBay) then he/she needs to get up to speed with modern practices.

Paypal is far from perfect but offers the safest way yet for both seller and buyer, to do a long distance transaction. It costs about 5% to the seller, but in the end, if accompanied by first rate photos and accurate and complete descriptions, ends up fetching for the seller the absolutely highest price possible. From this higher price the fees pay and sellers are still ahead.

If the seller does not avail themselves of all the advantages possible, it's like shooting themselves in the foot (an action not known to be very intelligent...) In addition, each time the seller achieves a successful sale, of quality goods and properly represented and collected payment for, he/she enhances their reputation as a safe and reliable source. The next time around, his/her sale will be more eagerly followed and likely higher selling prices will be achieved. Viola!

I DO admit that I have not kept up with shipping costs (doh!) and they are amazingly high nowadays...

Cheers Dale

Dale, while i agree the pics are crap if they are from the source i think they're from they will be worth bidding on .. when will international buyers/bidders realise that not everyone in the world wants or accepts electric money or can set up to avail of it, and would rather have a cheque or other form of payment . in the uk in my own experience there is still a lot of cash changing hands for cycle items ,i know that if you are going to some one to deal for kit you 'd better have some folding in your pocket. i fully realise that its helps the int.buyer but as far as i would be concerned, a medium that can go very wrong and with little help from ebay in sorting out the mess.....they cannot even stop these spoof auctions.. remember Peter Naimans diffs some weeks ago, ebay has gotten too big and too much money coming in for them to worry about ..they will quote statistics about how small a percentage is affected. ...rant over ... willie carton from a cold wet COLERAINE N.IRELAND PS. cost of sending a frame set stateside is approx 65stg postage plus insurance....AND this entails cutting down a std mtb type industry carton and about an hours packing to do it right.
